I actually left it on my bathroom wall near the tub for a couple of weeks, my kids used it to get out. I did notice it getting a little loose, possibly from splashing and/or humidity, so I redid it. But I haven't been able to recreate the issue.
I would recommend just testing to make sure it is secure every now and then before relying on it.
Also, I believe there is a new version which includes a suction indicator that turns green/red to determine if suction is still holding.
