My experience has been great! I use it as my home landline, on a dedicated old laptop from a few years back (pentium III, 256mb ram). I will admit that on long phone calls, sometimes the quality will begin to degrade over time, but I think that is because I'm using it over a WiFi connection (which they say is a no no!). I'm sure with some QoS tweaking on my router, I can give this traffic priority and eliminate the problem, but it honestly doesn't bother me enough. If/when that happens, a quick redial alleviates the problem.

I wonder if it depends on where you live. A lot of people love magic jack, but there also seem to be a lot who have problems of dropped calls etc.

A friend of ours bought a magic jack , called verizon or who ever her hard line is serviced by plugged into computer and claims she not any thing. When canceling service , would service provider dis connect her line??
