The Bottom Line: We really liked the Worx GT as a trimmer and edger. We don't think it is a perfect replacement for a gasoline-powered commercial string trimmer, but at a mere 6.8 lbs, Worx GT can be used by almost anyone.

What it Claims: The Worx GT promises to give you a perfectly groomed lawn every time with its ability to both trim and edge your lawn. As a lithium-powered machine, it claims that it will save you time and effort in setting it up and using it. What We Found: The worx GT is a multi function, battery operated string trimmer and edger for home and personal use. It is made from telescoping plastic and metal it has a solid, balanced feel. The head and handle are adjustable to provide a comfortable grip. We first tested the string trimmer feature along the edge of the driveway. It worked well and showed no signs of motor slow down which was great. We tried the edging feature next. It made a nice, crisp edge line and again showed no sign of motor slow down as we worked through the project. It had plenty of torque to get the job done. the battery on the worx GT takes about an hour to charge and lasts about thirty minutes which is plenty of time to trim and edge any sized property. Since the WorxGT performs well it's tough to think off any real cons, but the fact that it auto-feeds the line might make it go through line quicker. However, the manufacturers of the Worx GT will send you new line for free if you pay for shipping, so its a wash. The Bottom Line: We really liked the Worx GT. It feels very solid, performs very well, and the motor does not show signs of slow down as you work with it. The automatically feeding line might make you use more line than you would with a non-automatic machine, but the manufacturer says they will send you new line for just the cost of shipping.
